Tutorial 4
A practical example of Double Betting's technique
What are the possible results for our bets?
1. Winning at Betfair:
- We win 30€ minus a 5% commission at our Betfair account.
- We lose 30€ at the bookmaker, where we still have a 30€ bonus amount.
- For transferring the remaining bonus amount from our Bookmaker's account to our Betfair's account we will have to repeat the DoubleBetting's process again.
Consider we have won our first bets at Betfair. Let us now place our second matched bets, in order to transfer our bonus from the Bookmaker to Betfair. We will assume one more time we have won our bets at Betfair.
- Our balance at the Bookmaker: 0€
- Our balance at Betfair: 157€ (100€ corresponding to the initial balance, 30€ from our money deposited at the Bookmaker and 27€ corresponding to our profit).
2. Winning at the Bookmaker:
- We lose 75€ at Betfair;
- We win 103.5€ at the Bookmaker: 30€ corresponding to our initial balance, 73.5€ from the bets earnings and 30€ from the bonus amount;
- By winning at the Bookmaker, we will have to match our bets over again, until we have transferred all our balance to Betfair.
If the offered bonus was a Stake Not Returned Bonus, we would have to select the option "Stake Not Returned" on the Matched Betting Calculator.
Warning: The option "Stake Not Returned" from the Matched Betting Calculator, is only to be selected when you are wagering the bonus amount, and not for the money deposited.
On our previous example, as we only had 100€ at our Betfair's balance, if we had lost our stake our balance would be 16€ only, which would be a low balance to make another matched bet, so it is recommendable that you only make bets on which the liability is less than 60% of youtotal funds on Betfair.
To solve this situation, you would have to deposit more funds into your Betfair account. As an emergency you could make a partial withdrawing of your funds in the bookmaker. However, most of the times such thing is not allowed due to the restrictions of the bookmakers, and also it is bad policy, for we would not be good clients for the bookmaker.
